I agree this is rather subjective and dependent upon which eras you're partial to. I think it's safe to say that 4 and 8 are two of the very best, seeing as they're both probably the finest performances of 1970 and considered by most Deadheads to be in the Top 10 all-time best shows.

Here's what I consider to be the best:

1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 22, 26, 28, 29, 31, 34, and 36

31 is my current favorite of these, though this does vary quite a bit.

I don't have a favorite but the mix on the "82" Alpine one is awful. The bass is saturated if I remember correctly. I guess if I were to pick a favorite it would either be the double "77" box which includes the Atlanta show or the "72" Academy of Music show.
